Every time I read an article about some statistic based on the average person, I always wonder how many people are asked before the bogus conclusion was made. Tons of articles are published per year about the “average person” yet nobody has ever asked me anything. Even for something like a local “study.” You’d think they’d try to reach out to majority of the population. “The average New Jerseyan says…,” New Jersey is a small state. Why was I never informed about any of these surveys?! Is it really that hard to test a larger sample size when studying about the “average person”?
