In my opinion, both sides sound ridiculous (the memes and digs are entertaining I’ll admit). Though, one side clearly sounds more ridiculous than the other (hint: it’s the sore losers). Meanwhile, we’re missing the bigger picture.
I’m happy for Halle Bailey, but the same time I can’t help but think that we’re honestly just playing in the hands of the people who exploit diversity for profit. Everybody knows the original is almost always better than the remake. If the producers want to pander towards under-represented groups, make it less obvious by creating a brand new story instead of giving us the sloppy seconds.
