I live in Taiwan and luckily it’s not a sexpat/passport bro hotspot like nearby Thailand or the Philippines. But still, you can tell who came here because to experience living in and learning the culture of a new country and coincidentally partnered with a local woman versus who came because they have an East Asian fetish. And I have to tell you some of these western men with Taiwanese women are very UNHAPPY. Get a few drinks in them and truth will come out very bluntly.
My first year in Taiwan (2017), I met an Irish man who has been there for 10+ years has a Taiwanese wife and children. He hates Taiwan and is mad that his wife has no interest in moving to Ireland (I mean, not only is Ireland far, the weather is depressing.)
Recently I went to a friend’s birthday party that was a mix of Taiwanese and foreigners. There was an American man who married a Taiwanese woman and recently had a child. He said, “I’m only living here because of my wife doesn’t want leave Taiwan. I don’t like it here. I’d rather be backpacking in South America.”
Taiwanese people may like the USA and other western nations, but a lot of them have no interest in uprooting their lives. Many like living close to their families as it’s not uncommon to see multigenerational households so they usually have a closer relationship with their parents and grandparents than westerners.
In Facebook groups, I’ve seen men venting with passive aggressive posts about their wife’s/girlfriends being too controlling.
If you let passport bros tell it, Asian women are docile.
People have too many generalized views of people in other countries and act surprised when they meet someone who acts similar to how those in their home countries would act.
I’ve dated guys from countries that would be considered more traditional or conservative from an American POV and funny enough, they were more open minded than the conservative/trad/red pill American men you see on the internet. Sometimes I felt like I was talking to an American man with a different accent.
People are people. Some just have sexy accents.
Passport bros/redpillers give off a “revenge of the nerds” vibe. That’s likely why they take videos of the women they’re with in these countries. They probably got curved badly or heartbroken by conventionally attractive women at home, and they haven’t recovered from it. That’s why they antagonize western women they wanna throw it in their faces.
When I was in a relationship with a non-American man, never once did I think to bash American men. I was too focused on what was in front me. Every woman I know dating a local or non-western man here is simply focused on that. If they have a fetish for certain nationalities, I wouldn’t know.
Even if these guys do manage to score their “trophy woman” I don’t think they’re truly happy if they keep bashing the women they claim to not be attracted to every other day. We still live in their heads rent free, so who’s the real winner?
