I'm an American who has been abroad (specifically Taiwan) for about 5 years. I know my lifestyle here will be hard to replicate in the US due to the living costs, paying a ton for insurance, and poor infrastructure, so I'm really in no rush to return [permanently].
With all of that being said...
I agree that leaving America will NOT solve all of your problems. I personally find that they magnify them. Wherever you go, there you are.
Certain problems that are perceived as "uniquely American" exist elsewhere, we just don't here about them because there isn't a magnifying class on those nations. Like racism for example. No one would think a homogenous country like Taiwan has racism/discrimination against certain nationalities and races, but it's definitely does exist.
