Living in Taiwan for 7 years really helped me with getting creative on how to make the most with a small living space. Now that I've been back in the States for almost two months, I actually get slightly overwhelmed when I go to people's McMansions (only 2 people live where, why do you need all this space? In Taiwan this is size is good for triple the amount of people) or just unnecessary large spaces in general.
Driving is also overwhelming because I never drove during my time in Taiwan. Luckily my job is outdoors so spending most of the day outdoors and moving around makes up for sitting in my car for an hour.
Overall, these are some great tips. Prior to leaving Taiwan, I took a mental note of lifestyle habits that I will take with me.
To add- I always said Americans would greatly benefit from shadowing foreigners here who have not bought into the American lifestyle. A lot of useful tips can be learned from them. Especially for things like collectivist values and diet.
