Thanks for the shout out Julia!
Even in the world of elite athletics there are people competing past their “prime age” and THRIVING. For the past few decades, women’s gymnastics was always viewed as a sport where teens dominated it. It was said that females in this sport peak in their teens and retire in their early 20s. But then you have gymnasts like Oksana Chusovitina who competed in every single Olympics Games since 1992. She said she was going to retire after the Tokyo Games, but it seems like she’s struggling with that. A few weeks ago, she competed in Doha and came in first place on the vault. FORTY-SIX years old in a sport where most retire 20+ years sooner.
