Well said. We cannot control where the virus will find its next host, but we can control how to prepare for it.

When I first saw the headline that black people in the US are dying at a higher rate, I honestly wasn’t surprised when factoring how unhealthy many are. While food deserts are the reason many were left with poor food options, it doesn’t apply all of us for sure. Some bad lifestyle habits are simply passed down from those who were unaware.

I have two friends in America who contracted the virus, and like you, they most likely avoided critical condition because they both live active lifestyles and eat mostly healthy.

For those who remain in quarantine without much to do, hopefully this can be the time where they can work on themselves by doing what I call “self-sufficient healthcare” by experimenting in the kitchen with healthy recipes, getting enough sleep each night, going outside and getting some free vitamin D and exercising (preferably outdoors if possible).

My mother is a nurse and when she returns home from work, she boils a pot of ginger and herbs, puts her head on top of the pot and breathes in the steam for a couple minutes everyday. Not sure of your current condition, but it could be something for you, or anyone reading this to try if you’re coughing or still experiencing respiratory issues.

Take care!
