Why I Reread Books

Especially the ones I binge-read.

Books that I’ve read within the time span of a month.

Leisure reading is a great hobby. Doing this on a regular basis can come with many benefits that can help you develop in a more well-versed person, and for my fellow writers of Medium, reading can help you become a better writer.

From 2015–2016, I went on a major binge reading spree. I’m surprised my head didn’t explode from the amount of information obtained from the books I read, as well as the amount of information obtained from the number of podcast episodes that rang through my ears. I was like a robot self-destructing from information overload.

It was a lot. I consumed so much information that I felt overwhelmed about what to do it. Learning new information is good but if you don’t give yourself enough time to process everything, you may suffer from information overload. I believe this is what happened to me. The human body can do extraordinary things, but it has its flaws and limits too. Give it time to recover. This includes your brain, too.

I thought about some of the books I read during my reading spree (a few them are in the image above) and asked my mother to send those books to me. I took the time to carefully read them again, but this time with a highlighter and notebook.
