You are absolutely right! I completed my open water course a few weeks ago. During my first day in the water, I thought I wasn’t going to make it. The thought of purposely doing things like regulator and mask removal scared the crap out of me, especially when your instructor does it so effortlessly like it’s no big deal.
It’s crazy how once you get over practicing the scary skills and just start swimming around that scuba diving is unnaturally satisfying. During my first swim around dive, I was like “OMG I’m swimming in deep water with all of these creatures. I shouldn’t be here yet here I am, and it’s absolutely wonderful”
I’m diving again in two weeks and going for my advanced certificate the month after. I think I might be addicted to the water now, haha.
Really enjoyed reading this as a newbie!
